We’re inundated with people pushing their products every single day on the internet, and sadly most don’t live up to all the hype.  Let’s face it, how many times have you been promised the world on a sales page, only to be disgusted by the amount of disappointment you have.

After all, sometimes we’re desperately searching for a solution to our problems and when we drop some good money on a book or report that promises to give us that solution…then we’re hoping beyond hope that the report will deliver.

This is especially true in the self-development field where the solution could mean the difference between our hopes soaring or being beaten down even further in the dirt than they were in the first place.

All this is going somewhere, I promise.

Recently a good friend of mine David Feinstein gave me a review of his new e-book in the self-development field titled “How to Get Astonishing Results in Life Using the Eight Crucial Elements of Self-Development”.

Now I’ll be honest, I get a lot of stuff to review and very often just skimming through a product I can tell that it’s going to be pretty much the same old crap that’s all over the internet already.  So in other words, most of the stuff I get sent for review doesn’t make it past the table of contents and a skim through the chapters.

I felt a little differently getting a copy of David’s new e-book because well, frankly I knew David already, and I knew that David was already hugely successful in his own right.  I also knew from working with him that he was a guy with huge amounts of integrity, so basically I was fairly confident that this book would make it through the skim test.

What I didn’t expect though was that the book actually stopped me in my tracks, and all the skimming went out the window.  I pretty much read from cover to cover (well, virtual cover to cover since it was an e-book but you get the point)…

From the introduction David pretty much had me gripped.

Here’s why.

He immediately explains exactly why the reader might not be seeing success in their lives…and in great detail.  He then goes on to say that the elements of success are within each of us already – and in fact we already use them, we just use them backwards.

I finally understood exactly how so many people get confused with their lack of success, even though they might feel like they’re doing all of the right things.

Each chapter goes on to explain a new element of success, and how it’s meant to be used correctly, with real world examples given at each opportunity.

The thing I really like about all this though is that these are not just chapters like so many other books have that simply explain the problem, and never giving a real solution.  David gives real usable solutions that anybody can start implement immediately to see results.  He seems to realize that sometimes people need to have something that they can relate to rather than just text book theories…and he gives that all throughout the book.

Probably the best part of the e-book is the personal letter to the reader about exactly how to use the e-book to get the most out of it.

Listen, we all have our e-books that we read and never go back to again, but David lays out a plan so that you can get tons out this e-book.  He shows you how to implement the ideas and see consistent and constant improvement…and how to use the book as an actual tool, not a quick read.

One thing that I think makes this book really truly stand-out – that some may not actually like to be honest – is that he doesn’t tell you anywhere that by simply reading the e-book that your life will change or any success will happen.  But he does lay out a nice plan for that to happen in a very effective and long reaching way.

I would recommend “How to Get Astonishing Results in Life Using the Eight Crucial Elements of Self-Development” for anyone in the world who wants to see their life improve from where it’s at now.  With this book I think that it’s possible for that to happen at near warp speed, simply because of the rock solid principles and success based elements within it.

If you’re marketing online at all then you’ve probably heard about Squidoo.  Squidoo is one of the fastest growing communities online, and in fact it was the 7th fastest growing site online in 2007.  That’s out of billions of websites online today, so that’s no easy task.

But what the heck is Squidoo, besides a site with a funny name.  Squidoo.com is in essence a combination of social networking a blogging, that when combined creates a very powerful concept for promoting your products, services, and even more importantly… your websites.

You see, because of its massive size, Squidoo is seen by Google (the number one search engine in the world) as being an authority site. In other words, Google looks very highly on Squidoo…and a fact that proves that even further is the page rank 7 that Google gives it. It takes a lot of authority to get that high a page rank in Google…7 out of 10.

So basically, with Squidoo… you’re able to create your own page with them, on the topic of your choice. These web pages very often will rank in Google very quickly on their first page if things are done right.

In all honesty, Squidoo does make it pretty simple for the average person to come in and create a site with them.  There’s no doubt that you could go right now, and pretty much have something up within an hour.  The problem though is that if you want all of the benefits that Squidoo can give you…which is huge authority for your sites, and the potential of a ton of traffic, there are a lot of certain steps that you must take to do so.

This is the part that isn’t easy.  This is the part that very few people know all of the in’s and out’s, nuts and bolts about.  There’s keyword research, tags, content that needs to be added correctly, different modules, pinging, bookmarking, linking, etc. etc.  Yes, you can easily create a Squidoo Lens (what they call their sites) but doing so without all of the other things is almost like creating a website and not doing the things that it takes to get traffic to it.

What I’ve done in the very recent past to solve this problem is hired two of the leading authorities on building Squidoo Lenses to just go ahead and build my lenses for me, and I reap all of the benefits of the traffic and the extra branding that they give me.  They even have taught me how to keep up with my Lenses after they were made.

In case you haven’t noticed on this website, I’m a huge believer in mindset!  It’s vitally important for people to be able to create and nurture the mindset of success in their lives in order to achieve the success that they want.

In fact, it’s rarely possible that anyone can achieve any success at all without the correct mindset in my eyes.

It’s baffling sometimes to see when somebody just gets it, and goes on to recruit so many people in a month that it makes your head spin.  It’s even more baffling when they do it in a way where people come to them for their business and not he other way around.

There’s a bit of a storm brewing right now between the old school network marketers and the new school network marketers.  You see the new guys don’t particularly care for the old school ways of going after friends and family as prospects for their business.

Now I’ll be completely blunt with you because that’s how I am.  I’m from the Bronx so I really know no other way.

However with that being said, I also know that when you refuse to change…when you’re rigid and not flexible in your ways you tend to break.  There are many old school network marketers who refuse to change and that’s fine.  I understand that adapting to change like the internet and taking advice from young men who have found an easier way for themselves is crucial to survive.  But I’m not one who likes to try to survive…

I like to THRIVE!

Well, one guy that I will gladly follow and learn from when it comes to the new ways of marketing, and actually creating a different kind of warm market where people approach you is Mike Dillard.

Mike is one of those typical stories of someone who really wanted success in MLM badly, but stumbled around blindly for sometime before hitting his stride.

I want to talk a bit about Self Confidence with you.

It’s quite amazing that one trait could totally outshine and override nearly all others…and be completely relevant and crucial in nearly any and all situations in this world.

In the home based business world, especially in the MLM – Network Marketing industry, it’s nearly essential that you have the proper coaching and training so that you are able to run your business more efficiently and productively.

One of the common things that unfortunately happen when people get recruited into a network marketing business is that they get persuaded by unscrupulous MLM’ers that don’t explain everything that is entailed with building a business.  These people get sold on the pie in the sky, sit around at home in your underwear (which is actually possible) doing nothing what so ever to build your business (which isn’t) bologna.

So then here’s what happens.

That person slaps down their entrance fee to become a distributor, sometimes barely scraping it together, and then gets the rude awakening that there are other costs involved only after they’ve already become a distributor.

You may or may not have heard me mention in previous posts how I feel about the new way of conducting a network marketing business.  It seems that all the rage nowadays is to totally blow off the warm market, and start producing your own leads through various methods on the internet.
